Meet the Clinicians: IMOGEN DINGLE

Imogen is our Senior Prosthetist & Clinical Services Manager. You will normally find her in our Ballina workshop or looking after a number of clinic locations throughout the Northern Rivers. We asked Imogen a few rapid-fire questions so you can get to know her a little better!

How did you get into Prosthetics? My mum took me to an Open Day at LaTrobe Uni when I was in Year 10. We sat through all the Allied Health presentations because I wanted to do physiotherapy… But as soon as I learnt that this profession existed, I wanted to be a Prosthetist & Orthotist! I went on the study Prosthetics & Orthotics at La Trobe after finishing high-school.

What is your favourite part of the process of making a prosthetic limb? I like all of it – casting, modifying, fitting, aligning. I do love the tech work & manufacturing side, but I don’t get to do as much of that anymore.

What are your specialties or favourite sorts of jobs? I like jobs that are a little challenging, but not too challenging! I really enjoy the jobs where clients can be super specific about their needs and their feedback and we can work together to achieve a great result for them.

Can you give us a random fun fact about you? When I was part of a Life Saving Victoria scholarship program, we were in Sri Lanka upskilling their lifeguards. I was gifted a tea-cup from the head of the Sri Lankan Navy. It’s my favourite and I have a cup of tea in it most days.

What are we likely to find you doing outside of work? I love the beach, surfing, gardening, socialising with friends, cooking and eating.

And finally, if you had to choose yourself a theme song, what would it be? I love a bit of Polish Club and Rufus du Sol, so anything from them would be fab.

Thanks for telling us a little more about the lady behind the prostheses, Imogen!
